Allright, the news is out.
In Second Life, the city Amsterdam has been sold to a Dutch real estate company called Nedstede.
The new owner has been pointed out, that he will mirror the real life Amsterdam, with the online version as close as possible. So the sex shops, drugs (maybe?), hookers, the smell, and so much more. The owner also has the club IT, a part of Roxy, The Mansion in Amsterdam. And they want to integrate most of their businesses into Second Life. So i think the Place Amsterdam will be rocking the next few months. They have to search only for a good SL scripter i think……. So if there is anyone want to have a job. Contact Nestede for this i think….

Frank

He there,
Do you know the Nazbaztag rabbit? Well, it has been designed by Robert Slagter. A researcher at the Telematic institut designed this WIFI-rabbit in the real world. Nazbaztag, programmed as a watch dog. It will keep an eye on who comes to visit in Second Life.
This hightech rabbit is communicating to the complete world thru wireless networks : WiFi. Slagter has now a new Second Life script that will connect the rabbit to Second Life, that will keep an eye on everything you want. If there is a visit on your personal ground, the rabbit will turn it’s ears or it will speak the names of the avatars/users. It will keep a subtile eye on Second Life movements you want, and that in a very fashionable way. And you don’t even must be behind your computer. It’s connected thru WiFi for this option! “Rabbit in original James Bond Style”.
What do you need?
- The real Nazbaztag ofcourse
- The script version for Second Life
HURRY! It’s for free this moment!

Did you ever wanted to have Amsterdam virtual in your own pocket. It’s possible thru Ebay!
http://www.ebay.com
A complete virtual sim in Second life for $20,000.00
It’s one of the most visitedplaces in the virtual world. This is not only of the realistic sim, but also thru the atmosphere that is on this amazing place! Even www.secondlifeinsider.com besteedde er aandacht aan. Serpentine is the official designer, an says that he AND Amsterdam grows in different directions. Don’t have the time anymore, and somebody has to take it over.
So somebody has been build since 2006 with this project and now he wants to sell it. Amazing work and money!

So read this starting guide, for all your newly baked SL users out there! Have fun with it, and i hope you like what i’ve made.

In order to create animations for Second Life, there are several programs that can now be used. Originally, only Poser could be used, and it is still a great option (versions 4 and up work with SL).
For best results, you should download the SL avatar figures for Poser, linked below. Poser is a commercial product, so it does require purchase to use. Poser is available for Windows and Mac.
There is also a popular open source animation client called Avimator available for Windows, Mac and Linux. It has been created specifically for SL. For more information about it, please see the Avimator site linked below. A variation of Avimator, called Qavimator, is also available and being actively developed.
Additionally, some other programs that can export BVH files can be used with SL.

Well, there are several important points to keep in mind when choosing your name in Second Life offcourse.
The first is that this choice is permanent (unless you create a new account), so choose carefully. Another important point is that unlike services like instant message clients, email, etc…, the addition of a last name allows you to not have to worry that the first name you want will be taken.
For example, if you want your name to be Kung Foo, someone already creating Kung Chung would not block your choice of the first name Kung - only the combination with the last name Foo being taken would not allow you to create the name. This also means you do not need to add numbers to your name to differentiate. In fact, this is discouraged, as the vast majority of players do not have numbers in their first name. You should also be aware of proper use of case, as your name is case sensitive and cannot be changed once created. You should capitalize the first letter of your first name unless you absolutely want your name to start with a lower case letter.
The choice of last name is a matter of personal preference. You cannot define the last name yourself, but you can choose from a long and regularly changing list of last names. Last names are added and removed on a regular basis to add variety. It is why you may find that you know someone in SL with a last name that is not available for you to choose from the list when you create your account. This is not uncommon, as many names have been retired already or some are restricted for other reasons. There are no gameplay consequences from last name choice.
